This is very common in winters and its also spread ones to another its not that '' DISEASE ''. But its becomes very irritable and not intolerable when its comes to babies and Children. As their Immune system is not that much strong as Ours.We need to take extra precautions for them. Here am sharing how we can prevent them from common Cough and Cold. And some home remedies as well.

Here are some anti cold strategies:

a)Wash your hands- The easiest way to catch a cold is by getting the virus on your hands and then touching your nose or eyes. But your wash your hands with soap and water for at least 30 seconds. To prevent Cold.

b)Covering Your Mouth When You Sneeze- Millions of cold germs are expelled into the air with every sneeze.cold viruses don't spread easily through the air--unless someone sneezes right into your face

c)Watch what you wear in winters- It makes sense to dress your child warmly when the temperature is low, but a jacket won't keep him from getting sick.

Home Remedies For Cough:

Push Liquids: Warm liquids make excellent cough remedies for kids because they thin out mucus, making it easier to cough up. Plus, liquids soothe a raw throat and keep your little one hydrated. Have your child drink ice water, cold or warm juice, or decaffeinated tea mixed with honey.Honey is  antioxidants. Children ages 1 to 5 years may have half a teaspoon and kids ages 6 to 11 can take one teaspoon.

Basil leaves: Considered as a sacred plant in Hindu belief, tulsi leaves can fight off a range of infections, including colds and cough. To get rid of cough and cold, take one cup of water and add tulsi leaves and a small piece of ginger. Boil this mixture over slow heat till the quantity comes down to half. Drink this at least twice a day. This can be given to kids too.

When To Consult a Pediatrician ?

An Ear Ache
Your child says his ear hurts (or is pulling his ear), is very fussy, or has a fever for 4 or more days.
he may have an infection that will respond to antibiotics. Since most ear infections go away on their own, your doctor may wait a few days to see if your child gets better.

Wheezing
Look out for wheezing aka a raspy sound when your child breathes, or a dry cough that gets worse with exertion.Consult  Your Doctor. Doctor can tell the difference between regular congestion and wheezing by listening to the lungs with a stethoscope. Will prescribe relevant medicine

Painful blisters on the mouth
Cold sores, which typically last 7 days. Because of that a child is not able to eat anything comfortably

These are some precautions and remedies for our babies and toddlers. If you have some better suggestion please fell free to share and Please have a look on my second post also as am not able to share that article some ridiculous reasons.

Yours Nikki
